Food packaging is used to package fresh, processed and preserved food. It includes all those materials that are used to package solid and liquid food, soft drinks and raw food items. Food packaging helps protect food from being tampered with and may possess special properties to keep the food in it fresh and preserved. In most cases the packaging may also contain details of the food item like nutrition facts, the date of production and the date of expiry.
