Energy in Abu Dhabi

The demand for energy in Abu Dhabi is high. Abu Dhabi has rich oil reserves, which are exported to other nations. The region also produces gas as well as nuclear energy. Due to the high production of oil, its cost is significantly lower, compared to the other regions. In the emirates, Abu Dhabi has the highest oil reserves, followed by Dubai and Sharjah. The government is putting effort towards diversifying the energy production from oil and gas to renewable sources of energy. It is focusing on renewable energy options such as solar, hydrogen, wind power and nuclear-based power stations, instead of fossil fuel based options.
