About Artificial Marble
Artificial Marble
Artificial marble is produced with a mixture of marble dust, additives and a binder to mound, process and produce finished reconstituted or cultured marble slabs blocks and tiles. Generally, these mixes comprise of a mixture of several components like marble dust, quartz sand, calcite powder, pyroxene, and a binder of some sort. Some common binders used in the production of artificial marble include acrylic, cement, polyester resin, and epoxy. Artificial marble is commonly used in a large number of homes across the globe, to furnish kitchens with seamless countertop installations and other decorative applications.
Artificial marble is a non-porous surface, which is highly water resistant and resistant to corrosion. The various production techniques used differ vastly and are used to produce slabs that mimic the appearance of marble, granite and other naturally occurring stone. In residences, artificial marble is commonly used in constructing seamless countertops, as well as bathroom vanity tops, and tub surrounds. The four most commonly used types of artificial marble are cement material artificial marble, composite artificial marble, polyester artificial marble and sintering processed artificial marble. These types vary in their method of production and in the type of binders and additives used in their production.
Most types of artificial marble vary in their structural and mechanical properties, and their visual appearance. However, their quality and properties are either close to, equivalent or sometimes even higher than that of natural marble. One advantage of artificial marble is its ease in fabricating custom designs and shapes from flat slabs to arches. Artificial marble is used in homes across the globe, and in offices and homes across Dubai. Their suppliers and manufacturers cater to standard and custom requirements, and design custom artificial marble products to suit client specifications. These manufacturers and suppliers operate out of facilities in the England Cluster in the International City, Stone gallery in Al Quoz and in Deira, Dubai.
