Desert Safari in Dubai

A desert safari is a ride through the desert. There are two kinds of desert safaris: dune bashing and wildlife safari that are offered by over hundred of tourist companies in Dubai. Some companies also take you through the city of Dubai, to enjoy the view of its skyscrapers and other modern architectural wonders the city has to offer. Dune bashing, similar to ride on a roller coaster but the difference being you would be in a car with a driver as you go up and down on the dunes. Dune bashing is an exciting, and adventurous experience and lasts for about 10 to 15 minutes. A Wildlife safari, on the other hand, is a slower drive through the desert as you get to watch the wildlife of the desert like the Oryx, the desert monitors and gazelles. The companies provide the tourists with binoculars to have a better view of the wildlife. The desert safari does not end with the dune bashing. Tourists are then taken to a camp in the desert where dinner is served which would be followed by a belly dance show and other traditional performances. As a part of the desert safari tourists can also get to take part in other activities including camel riding and sand skiing, henna painting and tanoura shows. The tourism companies that offer desert safaris charge from 45 AED onwards for an adult. The price of the desert safari differs from each company. The price also depends on the activities that are included and the kind of vehicle that is chosen for the safari. Hummer desert safaris are priced at 280 AED onwards for adults. There are also other vehicles like a quad bike and dune buggies that are made available.
