About Submersible Pumps

Submersible Pumps

Submersible pumps are also known as storm water pumps, sewage pumps or septic pumps. Some of the common applications of submersible pumps drainage and sewage, mine dewatering and trade waste processing. Submersible pumps are the most ideal for moving of subsoil water, sewage, chemicals and food stuffs, and bore water. They are also manufactured to suit applications with a low flow, high flow, or low pressure or high pressure.

There are two basic types of submersible pumps such as well pumps or sump pumps. A well pump is used by being suspended in a water well and is powered by electricity. A well pump could be used at great depths. Whereas a sump pump is usually used in a lower area like a pit or a swimming pool. The most common types of well pumps are electric submersibles, bladder pumps. Borehole pumps and line shaft turbines. Some of the common sump pumps are grinder pumps, effluent pumps, utility pumps and bilge pumps.

Submersible pumps can be used to efficiently remove sewage and transfer it to a large holding tank. Septic tanks can also be emptied and cleaned with the use of a submersible tank. In various industries they are used to remove water that has accumulated at the job site. They are also used at oilfields to pump oil from underground deposits to be treated above ground.
