Ras Al Khaimah in UAE City Guide

Ras Al Khaimah is the fourth largest emirate. Without oil reserves to rely on, it has developed its industrial sector and has become known globally for quality ceramic tiles and sanitary ware. Ras Al Khaimah Ceramics is one of the world’s largest ceramic producers and exports to 135 countries worldwide. The emirate is also home to the UAE’s first pharmaceutical company, exporting to over 80 countries, and the first cement company, which is still the UAE’s largest producer of cement. Ras Al Khaimah is also the origin of Masafi, the leading brand of regional mineral water.

The emirate continues to develop its tourism sector with new hotels and resorts opening, exploiting the picturesque positioning between the Al Hajjar Mountains, the desert and the Arabian Gulf and offering a relatively undiscovered corner of the UAE. Currently, the emirate welcomes around 500,000 visitors each year.

Ras Al Khaimah was the second emirate, after Dubai, to allow foreign property ownership, with the natural beauty of the emirate being seen as a major draw. It has successfully marketed several residential and leisure real estate developments.
