About Yacht Manufacturers

Yacht manufacturers design medium sized sailing boats which are geared for cruising or racing. They also manufacture and distribute yacht accessories and sports equipment which are used for water sports activities. Yachts are constructed for leisure purpose and in some cases for fishing activities. Yacht manufacturers deal with the design and distribution of sailing yachts and powerboat yachts. They are 10 to 12 meters in length and come with a small cabin which is used for storage. Designers also manufacture superyachts which are equipped with a sail which measures more than 24 meters in length. They also design mega yachts which are over 50 meters in length.

Yacht manufacturers use wood, steel and a range of other materials to construct the hull and the frame of the yacht. They use a synthetic material to design the yacht sail. Modern yachts are designed using fibreglass, aluminium, steel, carbon fibre or ferrocement rather than using traditional board based materials. They use materials like carbon fibre, aramid fibre and spruce veneers which are laminated with epoxy resins to improve the strength to weight ratio of the material which enhances the speed and performance of the vehicle.

Sailing boats range between six to thirty meters in length and are attached to sails which are around 2 meters in length. Some older sailing boats are constructed with sails which have a large wingspan area. Yacht manufacturers construct and supply different types of sailboats which include day sailing yachts, weekender yachts, cruising yacht, luxury sailing yachts and racing yachts.

Day sailing yachts are relatively small and are under 6 meters in length and are also known as sailing dinghies which are equipped with a retractable keel, a centreboard or a daggerboard. They do not have a cabin and are typically designed for hourly use and not for overnight journeys. Certain day sailing boats may be designed with a cuddy cabin where the front part of a hull remains slightly raised. This cuddy cabin is used to store supplies for small trips or offer temporary shelter.

Weekender yachts are nine and a half meters in length are comprise of twin keels or lifting keels which enable them to operate in shallow waters and prevent hull damage. The twin keel layout allows the boat to remain upright and operate in shallow waters effectively. These sailboats are used to undertake short journeys which can last for about two to three days. Weekender yachts are constructed with a simple cabin with a saloon gallery for kitchen and an area which can accommodate two to four people. Yacht manufacturers construct different types of weekender sailboats such as pocket cruisers, trailer sailers and much more. They design cruising sailboats that are used for private purposes. Cruising sailboats are complexly designed as they are used for long distance cruising. Most of them are constructed using a single mastered Bermuda rigged slopes which comprise of a single fore-sail and a single mainsail. Some popular locations to get in touch with yacht manufacturers in Dubai are Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road, Deira, Al Quoz Industrial area, Al Aweer and Jumeirah.
