About Home Automation

Home Automation

Home automation makes controlling and operating various household systems and appliances far more convenient and saves energy. Home automation, an extension of building automation in the residential and home sector, makes life simple and easier. Automation involves physical or software integration of devices, systems, and appliances at home, to achieve simple control either remotely, automatically or centrally. Centralized control and integration can be applied to any systems connected to a common network using wired, or wireless connectivity systems. These include lighting systems, HVAC systems, AV systems, security and access control systems, surveillance systems, kitchen appliances, and other household components. Although home automation uses the internet to connect to and control home systems, not all home components like kitchen appliances are connected to the internet. Latest advancements in the field brought about internet-connected power switches, to remotely switch on/off various home appliances.

With Rapid development and innovation in the field, new and improved controls are being introduced into smart homes across the globe. These include voice control, hands-free accessibility and the integrating of an intelligent AI with home automation systems. These systems can either be controlled by voice using voice recognition systems, by touch or direct control using gateways or central control systems or even remotely, using software and application integration connected to all your systems at home.

Most home automation systems are classified into wired or BUS, touchscreen and wireless connectivity and control. Almost all smart homes use sensors connected to the central control, to automatically reduce power wastage, among other automated functions. Some common sensors include thermo-sensors, motion sensors, pressure sensors, and so on. The Luxury of homes in Sharjah is constantly advancing, with home automation being the new trend. Although its demand is high, there are only a few suppliers that meet international industry service standards. Some of these suppliers are established in Industrial Area 3, SAIF Zone, and on Arooba Street in Sharjah.
