PEX piping systems are made up of cross-linked polyethylene tubing which provides an excellent option for plumbing, radiant and hydronic systems. These systems are used in both residential, commercial and industrial applications due to their robust design. PEX pipes can be attached to push-fit fittings, manifolds, valves and other pipe fittings. These pipes are used in most plumbing applications as they can be extruded into a tube which is suitable for portable and non-portable plumbing applications. They can be cross-linked in a fast-paced manner as they can be melted easily and extruded. However, PEX piping is not suitable for compressed air applications.
PEX piping is best suited for radiant or hydronic heat applications as they contain ferrous compounds which exhibit enhanced applications as well. Piping systems manufacturers use an oxygen barrier to prevent rust and moisture. PEX pipes are freeze resistant as they tend to expand when exposed to extreme cold. This prevents the pipes from breaking if they happen to freeze. However, this does not make them freeze proof but they can be insulated suitably to prevent freezing. PEX pipes are not suited for outdoor applications as cross-linked polythene can melt down if exposed to ultraviolet light.
PEX piping systems are easier to install as compared to copper pipes as they are not rigid and can be upgraded and modified in different ways. Different types of pipe fittings such as valves, pressure regulators, clamps and other additional fittings can be included if required. They are available in long coils and in most cases come with extra additional fittings. Most piping manufacturers provide a 25-year warranty against manufacturing defects. PEX pipes are a part of a water supply system as they offer a wide range of benefits over copper or rigid pipe systems. They are flexible, chlorine resistant, corrosion resistant and does not damage easily. They can be installed faster than copper and metal piping systems as they have a few connections and fittings.
PEX piping systems can be installed under a concrete slab as they are supplied in coils. They can be installed in one continuous length without the need for extra fittings. Most of them are protected with a non-metallic sleeve at the point of penetration to prevent damage to a certain extent. They can be pressurized to conduct testing operations. PEX pipes are approved for plumbing use as they are best suited for residential, commercial and industrial purpose. They are used in hot and cold water distribution systems, municipal service lines, radiant panel heating systems, hydronic baseboard heating systems, ice melting systems and building service pipes.
PEX piping system designers manufacture pipes and pipe accessories which are approved for plumbing use. PEX pipes can help you save money as they are a cost-effective option than copper and are faster to install and requires more directional fittings for better strength. Installing these pipes involve less cost of labour and less maintenance. There are three main types of PEX pipes which are PEX-A, PEX-B and PEX-C. Some popular locations to find PEX piping manufacturers in the UAE are Sheikh Zayed road, Hamdan Street, Haramiah Free zone, Al Quoz Industrial area, Al Aweer, Al Barsha, Al Abraj Street, Musaffah Industrial area and Electra street.
