About Thermal Insulation

Thermal Insulation

Thermal insulation is the reduction of heat transfer from one object to another object. Thermal insulation is used to reduce excess heat loss. Thermal insulation is used for buildings, clothing, and travel mugs and so on. Buildings are insulated to decrease the amount of heat that escapes from the interior of the building to the exterior thereby saving energy and the cost of electricity to heat the inside of the building. In the same manner thermal insulated clothes are designed to keep individuals who need to spend long hours outdoors during winter.

An insulator is a certain material that is used to reduce the loss of heat form an object. The materials that are commonly used for thermal insulation are fiberglass, mineral wool, cellulose, polyurethane foam, and polystyrene. Fiberglass is manufactured by weaving together strands of glass, silicon, glass powder and tiny shards. Fiberglass is the best non-flammable insulation material. Mineral wool may refer to glass wool, slag wool and is an effective insulation material because of its non combustible characteristics. Cellulose insulation is the most eco-friendly insulation. Cellulose is manufactured from recycled cardboard, paper or similar materials. Cellulose contains a very little oxygen and therefore is an excellent material in minimizing fire damage. Polystrene is a waterproof thermoploastic foam and is a great temperature and sound insulator. Some of the prime areas in UAE to find thermal insulation materials, insulation contractors are Industrial area 11 in Sharjah, Port Saeed in Deira, Dubai and Mussafah in Abu Dhabi.
