Caparol a German-based company was established when Dr. Robert Murjahn developed “caparol”, a mixture of casein, paraffin and Chinese wood oil. The invention of caparol introduced dispersion binder technology to the paint industry. The predecessor of the company was Deutsche Amphibolin-Werke (DAV) which was established in 1895 in Germany. Deutsche Amphibolin-Werke was known for its research to develop the technology of synthetic dispersion.
