A tipper is a truck with a rear platform which can be raised at the front end thereby enabling the load to get discharged easily. They are also known as dump trucks, dumpers or unloaders. A tipper is used to transport loose material such as sand, gravel or demolition waste. A typical dump truck comes with an open box bed which is hinged at the rear side and equipped with hydraulic arms to lift the front side the loader in a very effective manner. It can lay material in a window or a linear heap. They are best suited for track laying applications as they can dump gravel in a particular pattern. The semi bottom tipper can be manoeuvred in reverse and is suited to carry hard materials as well. The double and triple trailer bottom tipper is a single axle semi-trailer which is pulled with the help of a two-axle tractor. This allows the driver to lay material in windrows without having to leave the cab or stop the truck. Side tipper trucks are best suited for mining operations as they involve less risk.
