Laboratory technicians study blood samples which are used for transfusion by identifying the number of cells by the method of performing cell morphology which helps them determine which blood type is compatible with which one. They operate different types of cell equipment which help in determining the blood group, nature of blood, blood type and the composition of haemoglobin and white blood cells in the specimen. Technicians operate sophisticated laboratory equipment such as electron microscopes cell counters bone marrow analysers and much more. Most clinical laboratories are equipped with automated and computerised equipment which is designed to conduct multiple tests simultaneously.
