About Thermography Inspection

Thermography Inspection

Thermography inspection involves the non destructive testing of parts by the process of using thermal imaging patterns on the surface of the object. Thermal patterns form a thermal image which exposes any defects present in the object. Thermography inspection can be conducted on almost all mechanical components, electronic machines, industrial machinery and buildings. All objects tend to emit heat which can be captured by infrared cameras of thermal imaging sensors. If there is an unbalanced flow of thermal radiation from the object it is a sign of defect. Companies which provide thermography inspection services use different methods to test objects for defects. Some popularly used methods are infrared vision testing, infrared thermography, infrared camera observation, infrared detection, non destructive thermal imaging. Other methods of thermography inspection include active thermography, passive thermography, pulsed thermography, electromagnetic thermography, modulated thermography, step heating, vibrothermography, frictional heating and mechanical excitation.

Thermography inspection services are preferred by aerospace industries to detect flaws on sand witch panels, aircraft rudders and to calculate impact damage. They are used in automotive industries to detect defects in spot welds, aerodynamics and adhesive bonds. Thermography inspection is conducted in power industries to identify faults in wind turbines and dam motors. They are also used to detect pipeline leakage, radiation leakage, gas leakage, water inundation and other similar defects. Thermography can also be used to detect voids, corrosion, wall thinning, paint adhesion, wall thickness, fiber orientation, impact damage and contamination. Some popular locations to get in touch with companies which provide thermography inspection services in Sharjah are SAIF zone, Nadja Street, Rolla Street and Industrial area 13.
