About Cladding

Cladding is the process of applying one material over the other which acts a protective layer which offers thermal insulation and weather resistance to the cladded structure. Different materials such as wood, metal, brick, vinyl and composite materials are used for cladding. It adds an extra layer to the building and acts like a skin. It can be easily attached to the framework of the building by adding intermediate layers of battens or spacers. Cladding stops heavy wind and rainwater from entering the building, it offers thermal and acoustic resistance. It makes the exterior of your building look very attractive. Aluminium and reconstituted timber claddings offer great fire resistance. It is mostly constructed using porous materials such as bricks which absorbs rainwater during rainfall and subsequently dries out thereby preventing water from entering the building.

The architectural cladding is applied to the building exterior for both protective and aesthetic purpose. It is mainly designed to enhance the appearance of the building and permits the addition of artwork and other similar materials. This covering is made up of wood, stone, concrete or synthetic materials. Wall cladding is the best way to give a new look to your building or create smart facades for corporate structures. It is very low in maintenance and forms a protective layer across the building. It increases the durability of the building and protects them from dirt and pollution. It makes you building weatherproof and offers strong resistance against high-pressure winds and blocks extreme heat. It is just a one-time investment for you as it offers a wide array of benefits as well. Most wall claddings can last for up to 50 years.

There are seven different types of cladding which include stone cladding, timber cladding, weatherboard cladding, fibre cement cladding, brick cladding, vinyl cladding and metal cladding. Stone cladding makes your home look more elegant and lively as it blends in with most building architectures. It is a thin layer of naturally simulated stone which gives an earthy feel to your building. Timber cladding is designed as horizontal boards, shingles or panels which are a popular choice for homeowners as it gives a rustic warm and looks to your home. It exhibits great insulation properties as it is an environment-friendly cladding option. Weatherboard cladding is made up of reconstituted hardwood or timber. This is materials can be stained or painted in many ways and can be attached to different types of underlying materials such as cement brick or stone. This cladding needs to be periodically maintained form them to stay in good condition. Fibre cement cladding is a special cladding which is made up of compressed sand, cement or cellular fibre into sheets. It is easy to install as compared to wood and requires less maintenance. Brick cladding is widely used in architectural applications as it comes in different patterns and colours. It is lightweight, soundproof and acts as a great insulator. Vinyl cladding is an attractive wall covering which is recyclable, economical and upgradable. Some popular locations to find companies which deal with selling and installing wall cladding systems in Dubai are Sheikh Zayed Road, Karama, Al Attar Centre, Ras Al Khor, Musaffah Industrial area, Liwa Street, Umm Ramool, Rashidiya and Jebel Ali.
